The regional project "Routes of the Great War - A journey through history" involves the regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia (project leader), Veneto, Lombardy and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano. Its goal is to enhance, from a tourist point, the extraordinary historical and cultural heritage left during the First World War in order to make it accessible to all fans and anyone who wants to learn an important part of the past, not only Italian but also European.
 
This event is still so engaging and exciting for the presence, on the territories where the "Great War" was fought and lived, of countless traces and monuments related to it survived to the present day.
 
These numerous testimonies, often situated in beautiful natural settings, are now the important signs of memory able to teach and excite. Inside the fortifications you can see with your own eyes and touch with your hands those places where millions of men fought and where many pages of our history were written. A unique experience that does not leave you unmoved.
